About

Hi, Im Ricardo, I’m originally from Mexico and currently based in Paris, working at Alphaguard as a Founding AI Engineer, building what I consider some of the most advanced AI-powered systems for fraud detection and risk intelligence. At Alphaguard, we’re developing a new generation of tools that combine large-scale data analysis, document intelligence, and AI agents to help organizations detect complex fraud patterns and hidden risks in financial and procurement systems.

My work focuses on designing and deploying the underlying AI pipelines and automation workflows that transform messy real-world data into structured signals investigators can act on. It’s a challenging intersection of AI, security, and real-world impact — exactly the kind of systems I enjoy building. I’m proud to be the first employee of the company, and I know that a small part of me is already embedded in that codebase.

My path into AI wasn’t linear. I started as a chemical engineer, graduating from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, which led me to work as a consultant in industrial risk management, implementing ISO-based systems and delivering hundreds of hours of professional training each year. That experience shaped how I think about structure, accountability, and real-world constraints.

Later, I transitioned into Data Science and eventually into production AI systems — where I found the right balance between technical depth and meaningful impact.

Outside of work, I like staying active and curious. Competitive sports, strategy games, history, geopolitics, cooking, exploring restaurants, traveling — I tend to enjoy things that involve learning, competition, or good conversation.

I keep most of my personal life offline, but I’m always happy to talk in person. If anything here resonates with you, feel free to reach out.
